THE FOOD OF PARADISE
BY: IBN Amjed
The theme of the story is all about hope and faith towards our God. The story tackles about Allah and we Filipinos are mostly Christians, but the teachings were just the same. We must have hope and faith to our God because when everything’s lost he is the only one we can cling to. It is better to do good works and just pray to God that he will guide us in every way and be more thankful for all those blessings that we receive from God.

Another thing that we should learn from this story is to be contented on what we have. Then made a lot of hard work so that we may also attain what we really wanted and in order to achieve success in life, we should not forget god and always be thankful to him.

The summary of this story is about the forbidden love of a couple, and the rooster who reveal their relationship. The people as well as her mother, believes that she is pregnant because of their beliefs.
Therefore I can say that, we don’t need to rely on beliefs or superstitious, we still need to prove it before we judge the person because superstitious is not so accurate
Homecoming

The story is not strange for us Filipinos that leave their mother country to continue their studies abroad . But the thing in this story is the main character forget where he came from and he’s not even proud of his own culture .In this story you can easily identify that Vietnamese people are rich in their culture .There are also some instances that the main character in the story shows the same characteristics just like other Filipinos when they go abroad they can easily adapt other cultures and sometimes they even forget their culture.

OH ... OH ... OH ...

The theme of this story is all about corruption, In the sense that the policeman gets all the sacks of rice of the passengers in the train .The conductor and the ticket seller of the train are not fair in treating their customers . The ticket seller chooses only the person who can pay the ticket in a larger amount , if the person doesn’t have a big amount, They will standing in their place until the person having big amount are done .Corruption in the Philippines exist in all levels of the government of the country .Political nepotism is one of the larger problems facing the country .Like our country  , corruption in the Philippines is all over the places .Our nation is stagnant because of the people that do nothing but to steal . Then like the story  , Here in our country has an unequal treatment to the people or constituent .If you’re  poor you will remain poor and all of the rich becomes more richer and all of the favors are given to them while, in poor people will just be patient .Cause they believe that nothing is permanent in this world and all of the humble  people are being raised by God. That’s why you would really see the unequal treatment to the people that are living in this country.

Mahamaya
By: Rabindranath Tagore

In this story I was amazed in the Indonesian Culture it’s because ,when tagore use the funeral fire to make the story more interesting and to catch the attention of the readers .I  admire Tagore’s creative style in creating  a very good  story which you would learn and gain something. .Being a suttee is not just as easy because you have great responsibility as a wife .Your’e whole loyalty ,trust and of course love to your husband must merely seen .From this story you would able to realize the importance of faith and trust and the beauty of one’s person is through his kind heart and be able to forgive .And also Indonesian people are rich in culture. They  also give higher respect to those people who have higher positon in their society.
